A weekend away at last. I’d planned a trip to Hobart with a minimum of car use (to and from airport), instead relying on feet and ferries.
Timing when travel is everything and I’d allowed 30 minutes between arriving at the hotel to having to be at the ferry terminal to get to MONA. Fortunately Hobart’s transport was running well and we made it to the pier with time to spare. The clouds and rain were on and off, so it was a pleasure to see light dusting of snow on the hills when the clouds cleared.
MONA was fabulous. The gallery of course was very modern, and I like the use of integrated technologies (like the ipod guides). I’d booked a winery tour, of which we were the only participants, so got a very personalised visit of the facilities.
Very nice to see a rich guy using his wealth to benefit the community.
