My grand water plan takes shape. A single tank at the top of the paddock with a drop of approximately 20 metres to the house provides adequate water pressure with no need for electric pumps or pressure tanks.
The four tanks at house level collect rain from the house and shed, all filtered through gutter level leaf buster sieves, and the again at the tank inlet. Plumbing connecting the water tanks to facilitate equalising water between tanks.
And finally as part of the fire plan, running the fire pump every few weeks to transfer water to the top tank from the bottom tanks to make sure the fire pumps is always in running condition.
Now to make the pipeworks pretty.
We gave up after a few hours of digging by hand as the top tanks is higher and further than it looks…
