Windsor Chair Course Day 2

Day 2 was pretty much an extension of day one, in that we further honed our stick making skills. I would never
have thought so many sticks would be required to make a chair, but there you go.

The legs, of course. And the stretchers between them – an ‘h’ shaped arrangement of sticks which when properly made tension (stretch) the legs. The pressure being what assists with the structural integrity.

Then a pair of triplet sticks for the arm rests, and finally a variable number of sticks for the back of the chair. This is apparently a completely arbitrary decision based on aesthetics. Minimum of five, maximum of eight. Even or odd? Even means your spine does not impact on a stick, odd gives your back support. Apparently wars have been fought over such subtleties.

Another day, and another batch of new muscles make their presence known through heightened pain receptors. More beer. More pizza.
